Sora Aoi in Thai Movie Hormones

Sora Aoi, one of Japanese top model, was surprisingly found involving in GTH movie Hormones, which is directed by Dorm director Songyos Sukmakanan.

GTH studio, who is the film maker company, kept the news secretly without revealing any Sora’s movie photos or information. Even in the 15 Feb 2008 press conference, no official news on Aoi role was announced. Fans were very curious when they saw that Sora was involved in Hormones, through the film preview and trailers.

Pidterm yai huajai wawoon (English title Hormones) is divided into four shots, each of which portrays the loves of teenagers, starring by recent Thai pop actors and actresses and of course, our famous Japanese star idol, Aoi.

Aoi plays in a part as a traveller and accidentally bumped into a boy, Hern who is going to celebrate his 3 years anniversary with his girl friend. Hern is a fan of Aoi. Some incidents happened in the middle which in the end both Hern and Sora went to the full moon party together.

Hormones set to become the first major hit in Thailand this year after raking in nearly 40 million baht ($1.2 million) in its first weekend of release.

It is considered a strong opening as Hormones have made $270,000 on the opening day, and the revenue has been stable over the next 3 days. Movies which opening more than $180,000 is considered strong opening in Thailand .

One of the major reason Hormones can make a great impact is because the film itself is a teen comedy with lots of laughters. Another reason is because of the unexpected appearance of Sora Aoi in the film gave a silent but big promotion to the film. Thousands fans have immediately and rapidly spreaded the news since last Saturday morning, especially in websites and blogs. Within a week, Thaicinema.org has been linked with around 50 local websites and was hit by over 20,000 visitors

Before this documentary film has even made it’s way to the general public, it has already cause a huge stir among hardcore Darwinists and Creationists. Special interest groups have been trying to put pressure on movie theaters to not show the film. Hate mail, even death threats have also been part of the stir among those who oppose it’s position on creationism. Ben Stein a well know actor in the twilight of his career, has also been a target for hostility for endorsing Creationism in the film. Movie critic Roger Moore of the Orlando Sentinel purposely avoided signing a disclosure agreement which was being passed out. He then screened the film and decided to write a poor review about it.

This movie has exposed censorship to a certain degree, and the peer pressure associated with it. Also, it reveals valid points in challenging the very core of evolution. Darwinists have been fearful of the impact this movie might have on questioning evolution in general. You see, like Christians believe in the final authority in the Bible, Darwinists believe in the final authority of everything that stems from neo-Darwinism.

One of the major criticisms of this movie and Creationism in general is claiming that there is no science involved only religious ideas. Nothing can be further from the truth. Let’s say for the sake of argument that a man walks up to you, and tells you he can produce a ball of energy out of thin air and this source of energy would grow into all kinds of things as it changes structures and chemicals. “Are you serious?” would most likely the response. But in this case, the man is dead serious about his claim. Most people including creationists and evolutionists would laugh in disbelief at this notion. Christians would think as just a belief in witchcraft, and believe the man has no power to create energy out of thin air. A Darwinist would think that’s impossible.

However, evolution takes that claim two steps further. It says that the beginning of the universe came from nothing by chance. By eliminating God, or an intelligent being, it claims that is science from a human perspective. But in reality, the occurrence of creating something out of nothing is supernatural. Because it defies the laws of physics. How can a humanistic hypothesis begin by supernatural means? The answer is, it can’t, and no neo-Darwinist has ever come up with a suitable scientific explanation on how random chance could produce energy out of nothing to create the big bang.

On the other hand, creationism goes by two basic laws…

THE FIRST LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS

Defines energy as a mass which cannot be created out of nothing, and can be changed from one form to another but the total amount remains the same.

THE SECOND LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS

All systems will tend toward the most mathematically probable state, and eventually become totally random and disorganized. Albert Einstein said this law would be impossible to eliminate.

Whether you agree with the statements or not, science can be use to discredit evolution which promotes the idea of intelligent design. This is what the movie is trying to imply, this is what is upsetting to some neo-Darwinists. It’s not bringing religion per say into the debate as it would be a bad idea to do that in the public school system with so many different beliefs about Christianity and the influence of special interest groups, but it’s basically bringing another view of science that comes to a different conclusion. Once this movie comes out in April as the average person can only view a trailer of this movie, it will be interesting how the public reacts to the challenge of Darwinism.

Presented by Eros Entertainment, Ad film maker Kunal Shivdasani’s debut feature film Hijack starring Shiney Ahuja and Esha Deol is ready for release on 5th September. Produced by Kunal Shivdasani and Dinesh Vijan of Aleya Motion Magic – Hijack is a fast paced action thriller with some exceptional mid-air action and stunts by Allan Amin.

Hijack is based on the Kandahar incident of 1999. “A film like Hijack should be seen by people to understand how to react when they are caught in the midst of a real life hijack. It can happen to anyone. Moreover, Hijack does not just talk about terrorism. It’s a film about love and relationships too,” says the actor. He also told about his special tranining for the upcoming film. According to him “I had to work a lot on my arms. I had to hang under a chopper for about seven days. You need really strong arms and shoulders to be able to do that. So I specifically trained a lot for my shoulders, arms and upper and lower back. It takes a toll on your lower back as well.”

Ahuja’s description of Hijack indicates that terrorism may not work for long as an enduring theme in Hindi films. But till a new text grips the cinema industry, the terrorist rules.

The new girl in the Hijack promos dancing in Shiney Ahuja’s arms is Kaveri Jha. A beauty queen aspirant a couple of years ago, Kaveri is a popular and busy actress down south. In Hijack, her Bollywood debut, Kaveri plays wife to Shiney, who is a ground maintenance officer at Chandigarh airport. Esha Deol plays an airhostess who helps Shiney save his daughter who is on a hijacked plane.

Moving into a dream home on a quiet Southern California cul-de-sac becomes a nightmarish ordeal for a young couple in Lakeview Terrace, the latest explosive film from award-winning director Neil LaBute. Old guard and new school clash in Lakeview Terrace, a button-pushing thriller starring Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction), Patrick Wilson (Little Children), Kerry Washington (Ray, The Last King of Scotland) and Jay Hernandez (Grindhouse).

Lakeview Terrace is rated PG-13 for intense thematic material, violence, sexuality, language and some drug references. The running time is 1 hour, 46 minutes.

Walnut, California, where Lakeview Terrace was primarily filmed, is located about 25 miles east of Los Angeles. The cul-de-sac on which Turner and the Mattsons live is set against the magnificent hill and canyon terrain of the area.

“One of the things I wanted to do in this script was set the story against a backdrop of the way we live here in Southern California,” says Loughery. “We think we’re safe and secure, but nature has its own ideas.

“The community where Abel, Chris and Lisa live is built right into the side of these hills and it’s constantly being threatened by mudslides, earthquakes and fires,” he explains. “In this story, almost from the day they move into this house, there’s this sense of this fire that’s out of control and slowly approaching. As the drama heats up between these characters, there’s this real kind of apocalypse just over the other side of the hill.”

The specificity of the location required finding homeowners willing to give up their houses for five weeks and a community that would accept a film company on their street for the 25-day shoot.

The filmmakers took advantage of an unusual tool in the first stages of their search-Google Earth, an online service that provides users with an aerial view of entire neighborhoods. “We looked at a lot of houses,” says production designer Bruton Jones. “We explored different neighborhoods and then just went up to people’s doors and knocked. I have to say, our society can be very trusting. Because, here we were, strangers, standing there saying, ‘Hi, we know you have a pool in the back of your house. Can we look at it?’ “

“We ended up in Walnut, which is a traditional, planned community,” says Jones. “It ultimately met a lot more of our requirements than the alternatives. It had many of the visual references in the script, particularly the way you can see from one neighbor’s yard into the other and from one window to the other.”

It seems that every second Hollywood star is a vegetarian, giving up meat for health or moral reasons. Vegetarian societies can now provide long lists of entertainers who don’t eat meat, including vegetarians like Clint Eastwood, Dustin Hoffman, Kate Winslet and Natalie Portman, and pescatarians like Hillary Swank (who eat fish, but no other animals).

With the list of notable vegetarians reading like an invitation list for Oscars night, it is not unusual for someone to ask “How did it all start?” Perhaps surprisingly, it is not a recent trend, but something that goes back some 90 years, to when the movie business was still new.

In the early days of the movies, Mary Pickford was the biggest star in Hollywood – even more popular than her friend and business partner, Charlie Chaplin. Specialising in playing cute children like Little Lord Fauntleroy and Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm (she was only five feet tall and had a young face), she was known as “America’s Sweetheart” – and later, due to her global fame, “The World’s Sweetheart”.

Mary gave up meat and fish after reading “The Jungle”, Upton Sinclair’s disturbing expose of the meat industry in New York, with vivid descriptions of the assembly-line slaughterhouses. “It was too much for some of the visitors,” wrote Sinclair (who himself became a vegetarian), “and the women would stand with hands clenched and the blood rushing to their faces, and the tears starting in their eyes.”

Pickford, however, was not the only vegetarian Hollywood star of the early days. English actor George Arliss, already a popular star of the American theatre, entered movies in the 1921. At a time when vegetarianism in the West seemed peculiar and eccentric, he was a pioneer. “Doesn’t it seem probable that many of our diseases are the result of meat eating?” he once asked. “It’s an unpleasant habit… eating kidneys and liver and picking the bones… We shudder at the very thought of cannibals, but is there really any difference?”

Another great silent film star, Gloria Swanson, would also follow her rival Mary Pickford into a vegetarian diet. Other early stars dabbled in it. Marion Davies, one of the top comediennes of the 1920s, temporarily became a vegetarian after playing hostess to visiting Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw, an outspoken member of the London Vegetarian Society.

However, though they might have been the first, these stars were not as outspoken about their vegetarianism as current stars. Unlike Woody Harrelson or Toni Collette, they did not campaign for animal rights, or publicly extol the virtues of a vegetarian diet to stay young and slim. Stars of 80 or 90 years ago were not encouraged to speak their minds in such a way.

However, as Pickford was Hollywood’s most popular hostess, her meat-free diet would have been known to the fanzines and industry figures of the day (though it might have been considered eccentric). Today’s stars, able to choose from a number of chic vegetarian caf

Tinseltown Movie Theatre News

Well there have been many new and upcoming releases, that come out during the holidays. This is the time where everyone in the family can sit together, and join in and watch an old fashioned movie together to celebrate the holidays.

Well I think some major films out are, Twilight which looks to be a scary tale, basically an old vampire love tale, which I think will do very good in the theatres. Twilight is incentive on being very dramatic, and centered around the love of two people. This will attract many females viewers to come and watch this movie.

Also another movie out will be Australia, which also looks good. Australia is a new movie about two people in love, going through the ages to fight a war together. This basically shows a love story between two people, that have bonded over time. The couples are trying to find their way through a deep war, in which they keep their love connected. They end up going around countries to make a change, and do things for each other as if they were one.

Also last but not least quantum of solace which is another James Bond movie, which everyone seems be a fan of, since James Bond movies are classics. The only thing about this movie is that its another person playing James Bond, which is sometimes hard to get used to. Its because sometimes everyone is used to a certain actor, for certain roles. I guess it will do very well in the theatres because it has many scenes with action, and will bring in a new generation of interested viewers to watch the movie.

So i suggest that you check them out when you get a chance, because you wont be disappointed. If you want great holiday movies, then these are three of the best ones out.

How to Attend a Movie Premiere

Ever wanted to rub shoulders with celebrities such as Britney Spears, Paris Hilton or Lindsay Lohan? Did you know that tickets for most movie premieres are often free and available to the general public? Many people have heard about movie screenings or see celebrity snapshots from the red carpet in fashion magazines. However, the quest to attend one of these events often remains a mystery. Here are six VIP tips to ensure you find tickets and seats inside world premieres and advance movie screenings.

1- Know where to look.

Movie screening locations will be advertised in the entertainment section of local newspapers or online. Newspaper ads will require you to RSVP to an email or pick up the tickets from a physical location. Online movie screening recruitment companies such as Movie Filler provide information, news and a movie screening locator about free movie tickets to screenings and movie premieres.

2- Check back frequently.

If you thought discount airline tickets were tough to get your hands on, wait until trying to get movie screening tickets. Although tickets are generally free, they have a tendency to sell out quickly. Checking websites that distribute screening tickets on a regular basis provides a higher chance of reserving a ticket. In addition, make sure to sign up for any electronic newsletters to keep informed as new screenings are posted.

3- Update personal information.

Make sure any personal information you provide is updated and correct. Tickets are often distributed based on specific demographic. Having your information correct will increase your chances for getting invited to world premiers and movie screenings you would actually want to attend.

4- Plan to arrive early.

Movie premieres and screenings are often overbooked to ensure that the theater is full. Those that arrive early will have the best chance to get available seating inside the theater. A general rule of thumb is to arrive around 60 minutes before a movie screening and at least 120 minutes before a movie premiere.

5- Leave camera phones in the car.

When it comes to piracy, studios take no chances. Recording devices will not be allowed into movie screenings. There will usually be several security officers performing a search as you enter the event. If you have a camera phone, they will ask you to return it to your car. Avoid losing your place in line and make sure to leave it in your vehicle.

6- Prepare your review.

Audience interviews won’t happen at every screening. However, if you see a film crew, be assertive and volunteer to be interviewed. Remember to be as descriptive as possible when describing your thoughts about the movie and steer away from one-word answers. After the shoot, monitor online video sites like YouTube and MySpace Videos, then brag to your friends.

Recently, my wife and I saw the movie 2012. It reminded me of the doomsday nonsense that fundamentalist Christians (and I was once one of them) have been saying about the RAPTURE – the return of Jesus to catch-up all his followers into the clouds and whisk them away to a kind of benign judgment while those left behind reel in the madness of a world that spirals out of control – necessitating the appearance of an antichrist who rules the world.

What do they have in common? In my own opinion, both are purely fictional and for entertainment purposes only.

For decades, Christians and Christian leaders have had a neurotic obsession with future events. There are a couple of pertinent reasons for this.

First, the church has failed in fulfilling its mission. So, instead of admitting that failure and looking within to find answers as to why, the church and church leaders have chosen instead to project themselves into an imaginary future, one that leaves the world that refuses to conform, condemned, while they are rescued from it. Hence, the church has become more and more exclusivistic, narrow in its beliefs, and judgmental of virtually everyone who does not conform to its view of morality, values, and history.

A second reason for the church’s obsession with the future is that, because the church has failed to “save the world,” so to speak, it has become and more self-obsessed and interested in saving only itself. This is ego, a collective ego, and it is part of the church’s insanity. Perhaps you have noticed that, whenever there is a spike in moral unrest or social, political, and international discord and tension there is a heightened interest among Christians and church leaders in the Rapture and the Second Coming of Jesus. A few years ago, for example, this heightened interest was manifested in a popular book by Hal Lindsey entitled The Late Great Planet Earth. It all but predicted the Rapture and end of the sometime during the eighties. When the eighties came and went, however, interest in the Rapture waned. Recently, however, there’s been a widespread resurgence of interest, even as the social, moral, and international unrest has increased. This recent interest has given birth to another series of fictional books entitled “Left Behind.”

In the movie I Am Legend, Will Smith plays a man who lives in fear and solitude for about three years. He is driven by his desire to fix the biological disaster that seems to have wiped out all of humanity except himself. He borrows his life-motto from Bob Marley’s mission in life: to “Light up the Darkness.” He wants to be as dedicated as Marley in bringing good, or light, into the world.
One obvious spiritual theme in I Am Legend is Light vs. Darkness. God designed us to depend on light. Light implies reconciliation, goodness and purity. We dwell in the light if we have nothing to hide. Jesus even calls Himself the Light of the world. When we dwell in the Light, we gain spiritual sight. When we dwell in the Light we live unhindered by all that might make us want to cower in the dark.

In the movie there are two kinds of people left in the world: Light-dwellers and dark-dwellers. Will Smith is one of the few light-dwellers left in the world. The majority however are crazed zombies who can only come out at night because sunlight will burn and kill them.

The Bible says (and everyday life confirms) that we would like to hide in darkness to cover up our shameful lives. It makes sense that we should naturally hate Jesus Christ. We hate the Light because He exposes our evil deeds for what they are.

Sin is similar to the infection in I Am Legend. Sin has devastated humanity. Sin reduces people to animalistic impulses. Sin inspires people to hide in shame. Apart from God, people are enslaved by sin to the point that they can’t help destroying themselves and the world around them.

In I Am Legend, the majority of people left on earth have the capacity to be productive but they are compelled by their infection to use their physical and mental facilities for killing, destruction and for infecting others. The minority, the light-dwellers, risk their lives in their attempts to save the dark-dwellers.

Toward the end of the movie (Beware: Plot spoiler!) Smith comes out as a Christ-figure before the raging zombies, holding up the blood that might cure them if they would only accept it. Smith culminates the Christ-parallel by giving the blood away and then sacrificing himself in order to make the blood available to other people. Smith also resembles Christ in that he was the only person in the whole city who was immune to this insidious infection.
